We Take Calls provide a call-management service to small and medium sized businesses. From the sole-trader, to offices with many employees.
​The Project:
With a view to securing new business, the company asked me to commission a cold-pitch email to be sent out to trades people.
My Solution:
Cold pitch emails have a number of hurdles to overcome. The first is to avoid the recipient's junk folder. The second is to be opened rather than immediately deleted. The third is to be opened and read. Finally, to be responded to.​

A strong, intriguing subject line is key. If it's 'salesy' it will likely go straight to the junk folder, or be deleted by the recipient. It needs to grab the recipient's interest and give them an idea of what they will get when they open the email.​
​
The copy first highlights the pain point experienced by most trades. They're working, maybe at height or in a tight space with tools in their hands, when their mobile rings. Do they down tools again to answer, or do they ignore the call?

My copy agitates the fear of missing out on business if they ignore the call, and the inconvinience of keep stopping work.

I then outline the benefits that We Take Calls can offer. Never missing a call, never having to down tools, and less time working when they get home in the evening.
